Nedbank MobiMoney is a cellphone-based account that anyone with a valid South African identity number can open from anywhere, in seconds. It’s easy to open, with no queuing and no documents needed. Your cellphone number becomes your account number so that you can bank anytime, anywhere. Most importantly, your money will be safe as your account has a PIN. All you have to do to open your MobiMoney Account, is dial *120*002# from your cellphone and enter your name, identity number, source of income and occupation. It’s that simple.

What is a MobiMoney Paycode?
A MobiMoney paycode is a unique, six-digit number that you can use to accept payments from customers and to pay suppliers. MobiMoney accountholders can pay for goods and services at small and informal traders. These traders can accept payments directly to their cellphones (linked to a MobiMoney Account). To get a six-digit paycode, simply dial *120*002#.

Are there any limits?
The maximum amount you can have in your MobiMoney wallet if you are not fully verified is R24 000. (Fully verified means that at some point in time you have given Nedbank proof of identification in the form of your valid South African identity card or document.)
Nedbank clients who are fully verified will have a wallet with no limits. The following transaction limits will apply:
- Daily withdrawal limit – R4 000
- Daily payment limit – R4 000
- Daily prepaid airtime, data, electricity, Lotto and PowerBall Quick Pick, and Hollywoodbets voucher limit – R1 000
- Daily Send money or MobiMoney limit – R4 000
- Minimum deposit amount at retailers per transaction – R50
